Hello Beautiful,
If you're just getting into meal prepping, it can seem overwhelming at first - but trust me, it doesn’t have to be! Over the past year or so, I've developed a few easy habits that have helped me stay consistent, eat better, and actually enjoy the whole process.
Whether you're prepping for the week or just trying to make weekday meals easier, here are my favorite beginner-friendly tips:
Plan Ahead
Grocery shop the day before you prep - it spreads out the work and keeps it manageable.
Pick easy meals you like. Don’t overcomplicate it.
Choose a prep time that works for you. I like Sunday afternoons post-nap - it’s become a ritual.
Time-Saving Tricks
Set a timer so it doesn’t drag on. I’m usually done in 1 to 1.5 hours (unless there’s dancing in the kitchen 😄).
Start small. Prep for 2-3 days instead of the full week if you’re overwhelmed.
Ingredient prep. Roast a big tray of veggies, cook a batch of quinoa or chickpeas then mix and match during the week.
Make It Fun & Functional
Create a vibe. Music, podcast, audiobook - your kitchen, your rules.
Romanticize it. Pour yourself a drink in a cute glass and enjoy the moment.
Invest in basics. Airtight containers, a fun apron, maybe even a label maker if you’re feeling it.
Clean as You Go
If dishes stress you out, don’t leave them for the end. I like to clean while things cook - it keeps the kitchen tidy and saves time.
Got any favorite easy meals you swear by? I’d love to hear them!
Meal prepping doesn’t have to be all or nothing. The key is to find a routine that feels good for you and let the rest fall into place.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your week my friend!
Until my next email,
xx Emily 🫰
