Hello Beautiful People,
It is almost Valentine’s Day so let’s talk Self-Love and Self-Care.
Firstly welcome to 2026. I hope January was everything and more than you wanted it to be.
With Valentine’s Day so close many people focus on their significant other but why not focus on oneself and practice Self-Love and Self-Care. Just as you prioritize getting that special person in your life something for this day of love pour some of that same energy and intention into yourself.
I am not someone who usually celebrates Valentine’s Day even more so now because my partner and I do not wait for one day to spoil each other with all the glitz and glamour that comes with Valentine’s Day. We celebrate each other daily. Our wins and losses good days and bad days.
But enough about that. This is not about our partner but rather ourselves. We deserve to spoil ourselves without reason but also within reason. I am not saying to go out and buy yourself the most extravagant gift. You do not need that. I am a firm believer in not going into debt for a holiday or in this case overconsumption. You can buy yourself the flowers the chocolate or even take yourself on a date but always look at your resources and your budget.
I want us to feel great about ourselves and not regret the decision of spoiling or pouring into ourselves the next time we look at our bank statements.
Give yourself the love attention and care you need. To quote Miley Cyrus in a nicer way “I can buy myself flowers.” Use this as an excuse to buy yourself flowers just because you are loved and special too. But do not just do this for Valentine’s Day. Pour into yourself daily weekly monthly or whenever you need it. Do not wait until you are burned out to start practicing Self-Love and Self-Care. Do these things often and you can avoid burnout.
Ways to practice Self-Love and Self-Care this Valentine’s season:
Start small with a bottle of wine and cook yourself a nice meal or buy the flowers and chocolate
An at home spa day with a facial mani and pedi
Rest. Most of us need to slow down and truly enjoy life
Take yourself on a solo date like a coffee shop visit a walk or a movie
Unplug for the day and step away from social media
Journal reflect and set intentions for the rest of the year
This season of love is not just about who you love but how you love yourself.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your week my friend!
Until my next email,
xx Emily 🫰
