Hello Beautiful,
Today’s newsletter is a little different.
This one was specifically requested by one of you - so thank you!
I decided to write and publish this today because tomorrow is my birthday, and it lines up perfectly with the theme I’ve had in mind: reflecting on the lessons life has taught me.
Storytime:
This reader - let’s call her “D” - shared a conversation she had with her brother. He gave up on some of his dreams because their parents thought they were dangerous or unrealistic. He loves motorbikes, but chose to let go of that passion to honor their concerns. I get it - I've also lost a close friend in a motorbike accident, so I understand their parents’ perspective.
This newsletter (originally imagined as a blog) has been years in the making. But for the longest time, I struggled with imposter syndrome: What if I'm no good? What if no one reads it? What will my family, friends, or coworkers think?
My first article was written back in September 2021 🤯
But no one saw it until 2025. I remember chatting with a colleague in the office one day - he loves writing too - and I shared my piece with him. He genuinely enjoyed it and encouraged me to keep going. That conversation helped turn this into something real.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
The moment you're most tempted to quit is often the moment right before something begins to shift. And sometimes, you don’t need a big win to keep going - you just need a small spark. A reminder. A reason.
I chose not to quit.
Not because everything magically got easier, but because I remembered why I started. I remembered the version of me who dared to believe this was possible.
Since then, things haven’t been perfect - but they’ve been moving. Slowly. Steadily. And that’s enough.
If you’re in that space right now - the “almost quitting” space - I see you. I’ve been there. And I want to tell you this:
You don’t have to have it all figured out to keep going.
You just need to take the next step.
Mini Challenge:
Write yourself a short note titled “Why I Won’t Quit Today.”
Keep it somewhere you can read it on the hard days.
Dreams are stubborn things. They don’t let go easily - and neither should you.
As I step into another year of life, I’m reminded that growth doesn’t always come with fireworks - sometimes it arrives quietly, in small acts of courage. So keep showing up, even when it’s hard. Keep nurturing your dreams, even when they feel distant. And most of all, keep believing that what you have to offer matters. Because it does. The world needs your light - exactly as it is. 💙
Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your week my friend!
Until my next email,
xx Emily 🫰
